Happy New Year!  I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday break.  I enjoyed spending time with my family and had a fun time with my children.  Even though I enjoyed having time off, I'm ready and excited to get back to school.  The end of the second trimester is March 5th.  Your child should continue reading nightly as part of their homework. Like any other skill, reading proficiency comes from practice and encouragement.  Thank you for encouraging your child to read nightly!  The end of the second trimester means the year is more than halfway over! Tuesday, Dec. 15th - Media Center Wednesday, Dec. 16th - Late Start, SEL Thursday, Dec. 17th - Gym, Science Test Friday, Dec. 18th - Nutcracker Reader’s Theater Performance, Art, Holiday Party Nutcracker There have been many changes to all of our normal traditions this year. The Nutcracker has always been one of the traditions that the 3rd graders perform. In a normal year, they would learn all the Nutcracker songs in music class, the dances would be taught during PE class, and the speaking parts were assigned by the music teacher and sent home to practice. Mrs. Peek and I would provide help with decorating the stage, and some practice times during class.
